31 May 2016

Dear Family,

There are so many things to say. I will have to quote the Apostle Paul on this one: "Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full."

Have a great week.

16 May 2016

Dear Family and Friends,

This week is a big one in my mission. This Thursday is my 18-month mark! I cannot believe that a year and a half ago, Mom was dropping me off at the MTC to begin the craziest adventure of my life! I don't really know how to express the gratitude I have that I was able to serve a mission, because I know this was the Lord's will for me. I know He wanted me to serve these 18 and 1/2 months in this mission. I may not know exactly why, but He has His perfect purpose. I am grateful for every companion I've had, every area I've served in, every member I have met, all the meals and the smiles and the lessons that I have received and given. I really think this mission has changed me much more than I have even nearly begun to change anyone else, but I with that it was worth it. I know this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ, and that He is our Savior. His Atonement is real, and it works. I thank the Lord for all the things He has done for me, for all the opportunities I have received. He really does give us what we need.

Thank you all for all you do! Much love,

Sister Aida Tibbitts

2 May 2016

Dear Mom and Dad,

Some cool and funny things happened this week.

On Saturday, we went up to Arima for a baptism of one of Sister Jenkins' former investigators, Sharda. She is friends with all the RMs in Curepe, so she is set for life! They are not going to let her miss church for anything! Sharda was obviously very prepared to receive the gospel.

Something funny that happened: we went less-active finding in the rain! Met the brother of a less-active. He told us that Beyonce and Jay-Z call him to write songs for them. "I am a man of God! You know the song 'Take Me to Church'? Jay-Z asked me to write that for him!" Yeah, except that song wasn't sung by Jay-Z and it's actually anti-religion. So, we just nodded and smiled. He also said, "You need to re-wire your brain with cyber-cianetics!" How profound.

Can't say much else for this week, other than we met with a few new investigators. One of them actually used the word 'ordain' in the sentence, which isn't super-usual for Trinidad. :)

Hope all of you are doing well! Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!

25 April 2016

Dear Mom and Dad,

What a great week! Sister Jenkins and I have been working on building up our teaching pool, so we have been going tracting a lot. Yesterday was pretty exciting: it was branch conference and we got a new branch president, Pres. Mitchell. For the last several years Point has had non-local presidents because they simply don't have enough Melchizedek Priesthood holders, but now we have enough! Pres. Mitchell is a super-cool Rasta guy. We also changed from meeting at 10 to meeting at 9 so basically no one came to church yesterday, haha! They'll get used to it. This is a sign of progress in the branch!

Also had a cool little experience. Before Sister Garcia left, we contacted a man named Junieski from Cuba, and he told her about a Mexican that lives in our neighborhood by the savannah. He didn't know the exact house though. So Sister Jenkins and I decided to go down there on our free time and search for this guy, not sure exactly how to find him. As we walked, our former investigator Kelly was walking too and greeted us, and I asked him if he knew this Mexican. He was able to take us right to his house! The man's wife is a white Venezuelan with pink hair and blue eyelashes, but he is obviously Mexican. I am really glad Kelly showed up by "coincidence," because we probs would never have found him otherwise. Tender mercies!

So, a good week. I am really excited to work with Sister Jenkins in this area! She's a hard-working, bold missionary and I love her!

Unlucky Number Thirteen - 18 April 2016

Dear Family and Friends,

Well, I have finally reached the dreaded and anticipated 13th transfer---my last transfer. You never really think days like this are going to come. Seriously, I feel like I was home two weeks ago! I think I got gyped. Where are my full 18 months?!?!?

Anyway. So, Sister Garcia is going home on Thursday, so my last companion is going to be Sister Jenkins! I don't know much about her, but I've heard she's cool. Stayed tuned for next week!

Cool thing: we were at Keith's house the other day, and there was a pair of toucans on a tree!

Apparently they come over from Venezuela, but it was really nice. They had huge colorful beaks.

Also, Sister Debbie and her grandson Mustapha took us to meet like 5 referrals. So that was awesome! Struggle: they are all in the elders' area. #whatcanyoudo? Elder Kong has been waiting for his visa for 3 transfers, so he is finally heading off to his actual assigned mission in Atlanta Georgia. We will real miss him.

That is basically my week. I have been reading the story of the sons of Mosiah. They were such good missionaries.

Sorry not much this week, but I am alive and happy. Ciao!

11 April 2016

Dear Family,

Not a lot to report this week. Sister Garcia's 21st birthday was Tuesday, so after District Meeting the elders came and sat on our back step and we fed them real Mexican tacos. Elder Kong dumped a lot of peppery salsa over Elder Cox's last taco, so unfortunately he didn't get to finish it :) I only got her a card, but I think she had a good birthday.

Monday we went to the beach with our zone and waded through a knee-deep river to the other side. It was fun! Lots of Hindu flags.

We also had Mission Leadership Conference on Friday. It was a really good MLC. We talked about how we are only failures if we are disobedient. I think that is essential to remember as missionaries, because sometimes it's hard to see the fruits of our labors. President Egbert also talked about the difference between faith and belief.

Sad news: My "daughter" (trainee), Sister Leishman, has been really sick these last few months, so they sent her home on Wednesday to get better. A parent should never have to bury their child . . .

Also, just wondering if you had any good FHE ideas for keeping the interest of teenage boys. We are struggling a little to help one of our less-actives and his friends. He did come to church yesterday, so that was a definite success!

Okay, I guess I did have a bit to say :) Hope you are all well! Love you!

Sister Aida Tibbitts
Dear Family and Friends,

Yes, general conference! It was the bomb! I have so many favorites I don't even know where to start, but I loved President Uchtdorf's talk about redeeming and restoring, and also the one on the resurrection by the man in the Seventy; don't remember his name. (also, Elder Martinez of the Area Presidency gave a prayer! Yeah, that's our guy! He's so cool!) We didn't have a lot of members attend, mostly just Sunday morning, but hopefully they will be able to catch it another day. Keith missed church for the first time since he was baptized :(

Other things: Well, we tried to play an April Fool's joke on the elders saying we crashed our car, but they figured it out and got us good! Haha, they hadn't figured out the joke we played on them weeks ago, though! Elder Kong said, "My perspective on sisters has completely changed." :D We are so evil.

Our less active Wayne gave us a referral for a man name Errol. He's old and stuck in the wheelchair, but he's really nice! We'll see if he will keep commitments, but he's very sincere.

I hope you have a great week! Love you all!

21 March 2016

Elder Bevins let me email on his iPad, which is super weird. How do you even technology?

So, crazy week. Elder Zivic from the area presidency came and visited. He wanted to interview a few of the missionaries so I was one of the lucky chosen. He is from Argentina so his English is not good enough ask complicated stuff but we had a good talk. How many people can say they've been interviewed by a General Authority? He talked to us about our purpose as missionaries and how we need to have "baptize" written on our foreheads. President Egbert also talked about speaking with boldness. It was on St. Patrick's day, which is funny because Elder Cornish came and visited us last st pat's.

A man from the church history dept came yesterday to get the history of Trinidad. He answered a lot of our questions. He said, "sorry we don't have the gold plates, but we do have the original manuscript for the Book of Mormon!" That was a good experience, because he able to tell us a lot of details that we did not know.

I love you and hope you have a great week!

14 March 2016

Dear Family,

It's been a pretty funny week. Let me sum up:

1. Sister Garcia is hilarious.

2. We ate lunch at KFC (sorry, Mom) and ended up caught in a contact with two women who apparently have the priesthood. I wonder where they got it. They disagreed with literally everything we said; first time I have ever gotten up and just walked out of a lesson.

3. Sister Garcia learned that when a guy says she's "real nice" he doesn't mean she's kind.

4. When we went to KFC there was a man holding his birdcage while he ordered chicken. Welcome to Trinidad. I got a picture but I don't have the camera cord so I'll send it next week.

5. Gospel Principles was a mess. Kelvin started yelling about some nonsense (I don't even know) and our poor teacher was just like, "...can we go back to Jesus, please?" I love Point Fortin.

It's been a pretty funny week. We have had several spiritual lessons as well; Sister Garcia is a great teacher. Thanks for all your love and support! Hope you have a great week.

Love, Sister Aida Tibbitts

PS Sister Tilby left me her camera so I should be able to send more pictures now. I just don't have the cord today . . . sorry.

Carnival! (second year) - 10 February 2016

Dear Family and Friends,

Well, Carnival has come and gone again. We went down to San Fernando and spent it with Sisters Cole, Masciantoni, Roubidoux, and Watson. We had a lot of fun talking, eating, and playing games. Monday morning we were allowed to go down to Couva for a sports day Couva Ward was having. Holy flying fish, it was crazy in Couva! There were all these speaker cars blasting soca music (the local Carnival music), and a bunch of crazy-dressed drunk people walking the roads. Some of them danced pretty much on our car. Let's just say, there is a reason why we stay inside for Carnival. The sports day was fun. I got my face painted :) Probs the only time I could have done that on my mission and had it not matter because no one would see me for two days :D

Today we are going on an exchange: Sister Masciantoni is coming down to Point with me and Sister Tilby with Sister Cole. Should be fun :) Hopefully most of our investigators did not participate in the fore-mentions Carnival proceedings.

Well, it's been a great week and a half! We are teaching a family (the mom and dad are actually married! It's a big deal in Trinidad) with three girls. I pray they read the Book of Mormon we gave them.

Love you all!

Sister Aida Tibbitts

7 March 2016

Dear Family,

It's been a smoky week. Dry season is here in Trinidad, and there are literally more fires than are in California. Probably because people burn their trash, the weeds (a la President Monson style; not even joking), and anything else they don't need anymore. The other day we counted five separate fires.

Other than that it's been a normal week. Transfer calls were on Saturday. Sister Tilby is going home, of course, pretty sad about that. My new companion is Sister Garcia! She's coming down from my old area in Curepe. She's from Mexico, my first non-American companion. If you look on the mission newsletter I sent you, she's in the group picture they took of the North Zone's Conference. She's the Mexican one in the front with the long skirt. I've heard she's a very good cook, so I'll have to work on my exercising a bit more . . . We will be changing on Wednesday, so I'll have more news next week.

I hope all is well in the Golden State! I love you all and pray for you.

Love, Sister Aida Tibbitts

P.S. Wait, wait, wait, funny story.
So, our recent converts Keith and Kelvin have a step-mother/neighbor who they call "the devil", AKA Girlie. She's just an old, slightly senile old woman who yells a lot and threatens to chop off Kelvin's hands when he mouths at her. She had no interest in the gospel or listening to us before; she's Catholic. One night when we visited the brothers, she came out and said, "I want to hear what all yuh are REALLY teaching them." So, because she's a little contentious and "ignorant" (her word), we just tried to testify about Jesus Christ with her. Didn't work as we hoped because she just steamplowed right through and talked over us (I guess Keith had to have learned it from someone), but at the end she said the closing prayer and was actually nice to us. Last night, we were teaching Kelvin, and she started yelling at him from across the yard. Sister Tilby said, "Hi Girlie!" and her voice just changed. "Oh, I didn't know it was you! Good night!" Haha, we got her good.

So, a little miracle.

15 February 2016

Dear Family and Friends,

God really wants me to have a testimony of the Sabbath. But I should probably tell you the full story first.

So, Carnival over. I went on an exchange with Sister Masciantoni. We went to visit a newer investigator named Kerron, who is a Seventh-Day Adventist. For those of you who don't know what that is, basically they believe in a prophet named Ellen White and that the Sabbath is on Saturday. So, he's a nice dude, but of course brings up the fact that we worship on Sunday and showed us a lot of scriptures relating to the Sabbath on the seventh day. I sincerely hope he reads the Book of Mormon and keeps an open heart and mind, because he is very strong in his faith. We can't really show him any scriptures that say it is on Sunday (any more than he can prove it is on Saturday), so he will just have to find out for himself. Funny because earlier that week Elder Cox gave as lesson in district meeting about how we do not have to answer everyone's concerns; they must find answers for themselves. We get backed up to the wall of faith, and there we make our stand. Kerron must read the Book of Mormon for himself or he will never know. The next morning, we went finding in a new area, and the first people we met were a very nice man, Andrew, and his wife, Tiny. They are also SDA. Their friend brought up the Sabbath, but we just kept teaching the Restoration, because that is the foundation of faith. Andrew invited us to their church Saturday morning, and we invited them to ours. They came! We were so surprised. Sister Tilby and I have been praying for someone prepared enough to come to church. Now we just need to develop the faith to baptize this SDA congregation's two strongest members! I will keep you updated, and pray for me that my faith fail not. So, long story short, I will need to really pray and study about the Sabbath day to help Andrew and Tiny understand the true purpose of it.

Valentine's Day was pretty normal. I made Sister Tilby heart-shaped pancakes :) I remember last year Sister Hendricks and I took a bus somewhere and the bus driver let us ride for free because it was Valentine's Day (probs the only upside of being a white girl in an all-black country; guys LOVE you).

We went fishing today with Keith and his family again. The San Fernando missionaries came too. It was pretty chill. Elder Naylor was the only one to catch a fish, so I don't think we'll be making a cook tonight. Oh well :)

This next week will be awesome! Hope all of you do well!

29 February 2016

Dear Family and Friends,

It's been a good week! We had zone conference on Tuesday and discussed the Atonement. It was really a refreshing zone conference; sometimes you just need to talk about how awesome God is. President Egbert shared with us about how the Atonement = Power and showed us scriptures.

1. Mosiah 16:7-8   Power to Resurrect
2. Helaman 5: 11   Power to Redeem
3. Mosiah 15: 8-9  Power to Satisfy Justice
4. Mosiah 24 8-9   Power to Deliver
5. Alma 7: 10-13    Power to Succor
6: Helaman 5: 12   Power to Resist Temptation
7. Alma 36: 18-21  Power to Change

The Spirit was very strong in that meeting. We could have talked about anything, but some things just matter more than others, isn't that true?

Also had stake conference yesterday. President Gould (stake president) talked about asking God "What lack I yet?" It was was a really good talk that came from his heart, I think.

Fun fact: Did you know that it references the story of the fiery flying serpents at least five times in the Book of Mormon? I have been looking at footnotes a lot and noticed that while reading through 1 Nephi 17. The four other references are 2 Nephi 25, Alma 33, Alma 37, and Helaman 8. Crazy! It's like types of Christ are important or something . . .

Hope all of you have a great week! Don't get too hot! wait, it's only balmy over here . . .  :)

Mats and Mormons - 22 February 2016

Dear Family,

Yesterday, I ate a mat for dinner. Actually quite tasty.*

Good week! We saw a few miracles. Sister Tilby and I were running out of copies of the Book of Mormon to hand out, so we prayed that we would find people who already had them! A member in San Fernando invited us to teach her friend, and what do you know, she gave him a copy. Then, we went to teach a woman we contacted a few weeks ago, and when we pulled out the Book of Mormon, she jumped a little, then ran inside and grabbed her own copy! I'm thinking, "No way she has one! She's never met missionaries before!" A member from Venezuela had given it to her years ago, and she never read it because she thought it was in Spanish. So, little tender mercies :)

We also have been teaching a cool guy named Kevon. He is a former investigator, but he told us straight out that he is very interested in being baptized, so we set a date with him for March 26th. He hasn't come to church, but hope springs eternal :) He used to be a professional football (soccer) player. He actually understands the priesthood well enough to make jokes with it, which is a miracle in and of itself.

We washed a paralyzed less-active's clothes for him so that he could come to church on Sunday. He didn't, but maybe next week. Also painted the outside of someone's house. He has a goat that he ties up, and we were trying to pet her. She started jumping around and actually did a backflip off of his porch.

So, we had a good week. Zone conference is tomorrow, which is always wonderful. I will tell all yuh about it next week.

Hope you have a great week!
Love, Sister Aida Tibbitts

*BTW, a mat is a giant lizard kind of like an iguana. In case you were wondering :)

1 February 2016

Dear Mom and Dad,

Thursday, Elder Dale G. Renlund came to speak to the Port of Spain Trinidad Stake. He spoke about Malachi 3 and 4 and how the righteous will be gathered like jewels, but the wicked will be left with neither root nor branch. It's hard to go to the temple here, but he encouraged them to do everything they could to go to the temple, even if it was just preparing themselves. He asked them to do family history work and fill out the My Family booklet. All the things he said are things that I have a testimony of. The temple is the most amazing place, and it's hard when it's far away, but it's not unreachable. Our recent convert, Kelvin, realizes this. He'd been baptized a week and he was already making plans about how he was going to come stay by me and Sister Tongi and go to the temple! His siblings, even the non-member ones, have testimonies of the work for the dead; their parents died, and so they are very excited at the prospect of being baptized for them. The temple is worth every effort and every trouble it takes to get there. Just because it's hard doesn't mean God doesn't want you to get there! He is just testing your faith.

That is my testimony of temple work. We sang the song Fear Not for Elder Renlund, and he told us that How Firm a Foundation is his favorite song. It was a great meeting. Almost all of Point Fortin Branch came, including a few investigators and a less-active :D It was a good day.

That was the highlight of our week. Other than that, we had to move apartments because our lease was out on one. Our new apartment is bigger and has more counterspace, but no hot water. I guess we can't be TOO spoiled :) We met a nice woman named Elizabeth the other day and taught her about the Restoration. She thought it was great and she finally understood what an apostasy is! Hopefully she will read the Book of Mormon like she said she will.

That's all for now, folks! I love you guys and hope you have a great week!

25 January 2016

Dear Family,

Flipping caimans, this week has been hectic. And next week doesn't look much better.

So, Sister Tongi is going home on Thursday, so I am getting a new companion! Sister Tilby is great; she's coming down from San Fernando. I will get the pleasure of sending her home in six weeks! (*crying inside*) It'll be fun, because everyone, even President Egbert and our own companions, get our names mixed up ;) Funny thing, if I get to be companions with Sister Watson, I will have been companions with ALL of Sister Lapides' companions! We'll see what happens :) [actually, not true; I never even met Sister Crompton.]

Other than that . . . Elder Renlund is coming on Thursday and we are singing for him. Then Elder Martinez is coming Saturday and I guess we're singing for him too. So excited! And just so you know, Carnival is the 8th and 9th of February, so we won't be emailing that Monday. I don't know if we will email on Wednesday either, because that is our zone conference . . . we'll find out :D

Thank you for your love, support, and prayers. I need em! I pray for you guys too.

Love, Sister Aida Tibbitts

18 January 2016

Dear Family,

Pretty crazy week, as always! We have been teaching Mozzie to try and prepare her for baptism this coming Friday! There are a lot of distractions, though, so we are getting trouble to sit down with her and teach her the lessons.

Funny story: the night we were to teach her the Word of Wisdom, we visiting a member named Sister Kunjal. While there, she gave us each a piece of cake. I thought it was very tender and moist and started downing it, but as soon as Sister Kunjal turned her back Sister Tongi waved her arms and whispered: "This has alcohol in it!" Oh. Awkward. We secretly snuck it into the trash after that. I'm not sure if it was a good thing that Mozzie turned out not to be home that night, so we could not teach her the WoW :) Trinidadians make this cake, called blackcake, around Christmastime, and don't seem to worry about the word of wisdom when they do.

Also had a cool experience at Book of Mormon class. The elders had an investigator come, so we just read the Introduction for class. He did not understand the need for another book of scripture: classic 2 Nephi 29:3. He was being pretty stubborn about it, but then we shared Ezekiel 37:15-17 and 2 Nephi 3:12 and bore testimony and his heart really softened. I don't think he was fully convinced but he did not argue anymore and he was interested in reading it. We asked him, "What if the book was true?" He said, "Then it needs to go into the whole world." I was reminded of Brother Leal and how he wanted to nail the Book of Mormon on every lamppost in the world :D

Sister Tongi is going home next week and she is not excited :) It's amazing how missions can change you. You love home and miss your family but at the same time you put so much time and effort and love into the people you don't want to leave ever. Trinidad is my home. These people are my family. I will miss them a lot when the time comes.

Have a great week!
Love, Sister Aida Tibbitts

11 January 2016

Dear Family,

It's been an interesting week! I have done things this week that I have never done before, like: fishing; re-upholstering a stool; and washing clothes by hand. The things you learn on your mission :) I caught the first fish, and because we helped a recent convert named Robert with his upholstering business we will now get free hammocks. Score! I've been wanting a hammock.
We also had Missionary Leadership Council on Friday. Elder Devn Cornish came and taught us which was an amazing experience. He just expounded upon the Atonement which was mind-blowing. We also talked a lot about the Book of Mormon. One of the elders from Guyana told a story that they had had with one of their investigators. She's a Guyanese lady who cannot read, so they've been trying to help her learn and giving her very simple verses like Jacob 6:12 to read. They came back to followup on her reading and she told them them that although she did not have success reading it she did pray and then had an interesting dream. She dreamt that her family and friends came to her and invited her to come to a party, but she told them she could not come because she was doing a church thing now and meeting with church people. Even though they had bought her a really cute outfit and shoes she still refused to come. She told the elders that she distinctly remembered the Book of Mormon was in her hand and she felt this urgency that she needed to read it. The Book of Mormon has so much power in it, because it is that pure doctrine. It has all those plain and precious things still in it. I love this book and would encourage anyone that has not begun a serious study of it to do so. If you're having troubles and trials in your life, the Book of Mormon has the answers and solace you are seeking. It answers questions on the soul. I know this book is true.

Last item on business for the week: Elder Dale Renlund is coming on the 28th on Trinidad! It's really amazing that they are sending an Apostle to such a small island with so few members (Trinidad and Tobago has fewer members than Hemet Stake). But they've chosen to send him here. A few missionaries (me included) are doing a musical number at the fireside. We are all really excited!
Hope all yuh have a great week! Love you!

Kelvin's Baptism

Kelvin, his two nephews, Sister Tongi

Same, with the addition of Sister Graziano

What are YOUR goals for this year? - 4 January 2016

Dear Family and Friends,

Happy New Year! We've been talking with people a lot about what they want to do in this coming year. One of our investigators, Kelvin, decided to make a big New Years resolution and was baptized on New Years Eve! It was a very great baptism at the beach. He and his recent convert brother Keith are both wanting to go to the temple as soon as possible. We are working on converting the whole family: Kelvin is the eldest, Keith is a triplet with a sister that we are teaching and a brother that the elders are teaching. We are hoping that somewhere along the way the youngest brother Kelly will become interested; hope springs eternal :) We had a great FHE with all of them where we talked about the story of Nehemiah and how he had to build a wall around Jerusalem. It's something that President Egbert had taught us about to help "build our wall" with the members. We focused on Nehemiah 4:6.

A couple days ago something funny happened. Our branch mission leader, Bro Baldeo, showed up at our door at 7:30 in the morning with doubles, Coke, and flowers. Sister Tongi says he does that all the time because he really thinks of us as his daughters. He's a funny guy :) Apparently he has 21 children O.o

So far it's been a great 2016 (!!!!). I have restarted the Book of Mormon and have been looking up all the footnotes along the way. It really helps me to understand the background and other crossreferences so that I can understand the scriptures better. It's slow, but good.

Hope your New Years was good! Love all of you!

28 December 2015

Dear Family,

Crazy week! So much service. I haven't painted so much in my life. Trinidadians (well, West Indians in general) really change their houses for the Christmas season, putting up new curtains and painting inside and out. It's pretty crazy. Good thing I like painting, ent? :D Even though I was surprised and sad that I was leaving Couva, I am really loving it down in Point. It's much more bush here, and the city is a lot smaller than the others I have served in. There were about 15 people at church yesterday, which was a little weird, but it's cool, I love the people that I serve here. One of our recent converts, Keith, has been helping us teach his brother Kelvin. Kelvin wants to be baptized on Thursday for his New Years Resolution, so we've been working hard to teach him all the missionary lessons before then. So far, so good. He's a good guy. We've done a lot of service for Keith and his sister Mozzie. Keith lives at an old sawmill that shut down a while ago. There's a lot of bush around him, so we and the elders came over one day and helped him cut bush, pick sorrell, and pull cassava. (Sorrell is a flower that WI use to make a red drink they have around Christmas. It's really good.) Christmas day we just went around and visited people and ate a lot of good food. It's funny; in Barbados everyone gave us ham, but I didn't see any ham for Christmas here, just chicken and rice and sorrell. Christmas eve we watched 'Mr. Krueger's Christmas'. There's an extra on the DVD with old MoTab Christmas concerts, and there was one where they sang 'The Virgin Mary Had a Baby Boy' and they had steel pan! Steel pan is basically the national instrument of Trinidad; we even have a panyard right next door to us. You should look the song up, it was pretty good.

Skyping was weird. After the screen blanked out for me we couldn't get it to work for Sister Tongi, so she and the elders had to scramble to find another place to Skype. It all worked out okay in the end, though. So I am glad I was able to Skype all yuh!

That was basically our week: service, food and music. Trinidad has a local Christmas music called parang. It's very bouncy. We are looking forward to New Years'; it's funny because last year for New Years I was on a tradeoff with Sister Tongi in Barbados, so this will be our second New Years together. :D She's a great sister.

Love you guys and hope everything is well with you. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
