25 April 2016

Dear Mom and Dad,

What a great week! Sister Jenkins and I have been working on building up our teaching pool, so we have been going tracting a lot. Yesterday was pretty exciting: it was branch conference and we got a new branch president, Pres. Mitchell. For the last several years Point has had non-local presidents because they simply don't have enough Melchizedek Priesthood holders, but now we have enough! Pres. Mitchell is a super-cool Rasta guy. We also changed from meeting at 10 to meeting at 9 so basically no one came to church yesterday, haha! They'll get used to it. This is a sign of progress in the branch!

Also had a cool little experience. Before Sister Garcia left, we contacted a man named Junieski from Cuba, and he told her about a Mexican that lives in our neighborhood by the savannah. He didn't know the exact house though. So Sister Jenkins and I decided to go down there on our free time and search for this guy, not sure exactly how to find him. As we walked, our former investigator Kelly was walking too and greeted us, and I asked him if he knew this Mexican. He was able to take us right to his house! The man's wife is a white Venezuelan with pink hair and blue eyelashes, but he is obviously Mexican. I am really glad Kelly showed up by "coincidence," because we probs would never have found him otherwise. Tender mercies!

So, a good week. I am really excited to work with Sister Jenkins in this area! She's a hard-working, bold missionary and I love her!

Love, Sister Aida Tibbitts
