15 February 2016

Dear Family and Friends,

God really wants me to have a testimony of the Sabbath. But I should probably tell you the full story first.

So, Carnival over. I went on an exchange with Sister Masciantoni. We went to visit a newer investigator named Kerron, who is a Seventh-Day Adventist. For those of you who don't know what that is, basically they believe in a prophet named Ellen White and that the Sabbath is on Saturday. So, he's a nice dude, but of course brings up the fact that we worship on Sunday and showed us a lot of scriptures relating to the Sabbath on the seventh day. I sincerely hope he reads the Book of Mormon and keeps an open heart and mind, because he is very strong in his faith. We can't really show him any scriptures that say it is on Sunday (any more than he can prove it is on Saturday), so he will just have to find out for himself. Funny because earlier that week Elder Cox gave as lesson in district meeting about how we do not have to answer everyone's concerns; they must find answers for themselves. We get backed up to the wall of faith, and there we make our stand. Kerron must read the Book of Mormon for himself or he will never know. The next morning, we went finding in a new area, and the first people we met were a very nice man, Andrew, and his wife, Tiny. They are also SDA. Their friend brought up the Sabbath, but we just kept teaching the Restoration, because that is the foundation of faith. Andrew invited us to their church Saturday morning, and we invited them to ours. They came! We were so surprised. Sister Tilby and I have been praying for someone prepared enough to come to church. Now we just need to develop the faith to baptize this SDA congregation's two strongest members! I will keep you updated, and pray for me that my faith fail not. So, long story short, I will need to really pray and study about the Sabbath day to help Andrew and Tiny understand the true purpose of it.

Valentine's Day was pretty normal. I made Sister Tilby heart-shaped pancakes :) I remember last year Sister Hendricks and I took a bus somewhere and the bus driver let us ride for free because it was Valentine's Day (probs the only upside of being a white girl in an all-black country; guys LOVE you).

We went fishing today with Keith and his family again. The San Fernando missionaries came too. It was pretty chill. Elder Naylor was the only one to catch a fish, so I don't think we'll be making a cook tonight. Oh well :)

This next week will be awesome! Hope all of you do well!

Love, Sister Aida Tibbitts
