Mats and Mormons - 22 February 2016

Dear Family,

Yesterday, I ate a mat for dinner. Actually quite tasty.*

Good week! We saw a few miracles. Sister Tilby and I were running out of copies of the Book of Mormon to hand out, so we prayed that we would find people who already had them! A member in San Fernando invited us to teach her friend, and what do you know, she gave him a copy. Then, we went to teach a woman we contacted a few weeks ago, and when we pulled out the Book of Mormon, she jumped a little, then ran inside and grabbed her own copy! I'm thinking, "No way she has one! She's never met missionaries before!" A member from Venezuela had given it to her years ago, and she never read it because she thought it was in Spanish. So, little tender mercies :)

We also have been teaching a cool guy named Kevon. He is a former investigator, but he told us straight out that he is very interested in being baptized, so we set a date with him for March 26th. He hasn't come to church, but hope springs eternal :) He used to be a professional football (soccer) player. He actually understands the priesthood well enough to make jokes with it, which is a miracle in and of itself.

We washed a paralyzed less-active's clothes for him so that he could come to church on Sunday. He didn't, but maybe next week. Also painted the outside of someone's house. He has a goat that he ties up, and we were trying to pet her. She started jumping around and actually did a backflip off of his porch.

So, we had a good week. Zone conference is tomorrow, which is always wonderful. I will tell all yuh about it next week.

Hope you have a great week!
Love, Sister Aida Tibbitts

*BTW, a mat is a giant lizard kind of like an iguana. In case you were wondering :)
